So she died sacrificing herself to save her son’s life. My god.

Just the thought of that kid alone on the boat not knowing where his mom went is heartbreaking.

She basically sacrificed herself to save her son. Ain't nobody can say that she wasn't a loving mother. 😔

Life jackets for every person on board when boating people

Ehhhh. A lot of this isn’t making sense. The lake isn’t that deep. Especially if it was anchored it means it was on shallow water. If she saved her son, she would’ve had to get her hands on the boat which means she could’ve easily gotten on there. If she knows she couldn’t swim, she would’ve gone out there with a life jacket (I wonder if any family members will say actually if she knew how or not)

Also, if she died in shallow waters, her body would’ve be easily found where the boat was. Why did it take days? Lake currents aren’t that strong. Hell, even ocean currents aren’t that small, when on the floor. Only way it could’ve gone that far is if her body floated, which would’ve made it easy to find as well. No conspiracy theories, but a lot of info is either incomplete or withheld.

“Mustered enough energy to save her son but not herself” any parent can say they would do this for their child, but she did it. She died a hero in my opinion. RIP

"No swimming or wading. Danger-Hazards exist!" People, if you read this on a shield, don't swim, don't wade, it can cost you your life.

I don't go swimming further than what my feet can touch.

I can't believe she and her 4 year old would swim in the middle of a lake without a life preserver. That just doesn't make sense to me. So sad

I feel so bad for them. I once took my son with me out in a 9' raft on what thought was a good day in an Atlantic cove. The current was stronger than I realized and the oars proved to be too short for the situation. I fought with it for a long time and when I realized I was done we were in deep water headed for the open sea. We were actually out of the cove at that point and I could see down the coastline. A small yatch flew by further out. I waved 'help' to them but they didn't slow or signal back. I saw the wind pushing a sailboat fast down the coastline, and dark gray ship that looked like a Navy vessel. It was close enough that I could see the numbers on it and water coming out of a small porthole. The sight of that ship really scared me. We were fortunate that a man walking along the beach saw us. The wind was blowing out where we were so I don't know if he ever heard me yelling, but we waved the 2 armed distress signal and he waved to us and ran for help. The feeling of that moment was terrifying and unforgettable. I gave the raft to the Fire and Rescue Dept.

I wouldn't even feel comfortable going out in a boat with just myself and a 4 yr old. I would at least have to have one more adult to tag along.

You guys on here don't find nothing strange that her son didn't tell the cops that his mom was yelling for help at the time she was drowning but told the cops they was swimming together I just think that would be the first thing he would say that his mom was yelling for help.

It's not really wise to go boating/swimming without other adults.

This is extremely heartbreaking. Before now, I never who she was. I wouldn’t want to hear of anyone dying this way. She was simply an extraordinary mum wanting to have an adventure with her son. So sad!!! It’s times like these that I pray there is truly a heaven, so that our beloved ones may find rest and comfort knowing that they have the heavenly duty of guiding and protecting loved ones they have left behind. I pray that is the case, because I know that baby misses his mum. He will forever know how much she loved him, and he will carry her in his heart for that. RIP to her.

As I have said, she told that boy "stay put, mommy will be right back" and he stayed put...waiting for her until he fell asleep. Poor thing.
She killed herself and set the whole thing up.

So many sad deaths surrounding drowning. Everyone should have a life jacket on, whether or not you think you're a good swimmer - the waters will always win.
