Inside Aleppo: Can the city be rebuilt? 4
UCTrQ7HXWRRxr7OsOtodr2_w

We went to Aleppo to see how the city is trying to be rebuilt, after rebels left the city at the start of the year.

Meanwhile, the US and Russia have reached a ceasefire deal in south-west Syria, one they say could be replicated elsewhere in the country. But that won’t include Raqqa, where militants from the Islamic State group have been fighting back against advancing US-backed Kurdish and Arab forces, as they move closer to the centre. Tens of thousands of people are trapped inside the old city, with dwindling food and water supplies.

So Nusra is merely "Al Qaeda like", while Isis are "extremists"? The Western normalisation of Al Qaeda continues.

They make it seen like the elderly lady could not leave because the Syrian government did not let her by blocking roads. I think she could not leave because the "moderate" rebels did not want civilians (human shield) to leave. In my opinion, the best part of this segment was when the reporter interviewed the MP.

Calling Al Qaeda "rebels". Smh. Madness.

"We're not going to re-open that old argument" says Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
That 'argument' is that Channel 4 have been embedded with al-Nusra for the last 4 years, have constantly lied and fabricated reports throughout their so-called coverage in Syria, and have been exposed as disgusting low-life scum.

There were no "rebels". Only western backed terrorist groups serving as proxy armies to carry out a long planned regime change operation on behalf of western and gulf state oil and gas companies as well as progressing Israel's expansion agenda.
Channel 4 broadcasts nothing but western/Israeli propaganda in its coverage of the Syrian occupation. This is known as manufacturing consent for escalating military intervention by western imperialists.

Aleppo an ancient city destroyed. I have met people from there in Germany. They lost everything. I have also met people from Homs, 1 a 22 year old fit young man was crippled by a barrel bomb which blew his friends arms and legs off. Hassan managed to escape with his family, he will spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair and faces many more operations. Just spent 6 months in a German Language Course with him and 14 other Syrians from Aleppo, Damascus and Homs. They all want to go back. They said Assad was ok. They said they lived good lives under him. A secular government. The man at the end of the video is right we should keep our bloody noses out of their countries.

5:31 "Those who supported the rebels have been bussed away to Idlib"
Completely incorrect. The people in east Aleppo were given a choice. Those who wanted to stay, stayed. Those who wanted to remain with the rebels went to Idlib. Nobody was forced to do anything as you implied, Krishnan.

half of the world? this reporter has no shame when he lied in front of camera. the west didn't represent half of the world. in terms of numbers, less than 20%!

The moderate head choppers refused to let civilians flee because they wanted to use them as human shields, but all we heard was 'Assad is bombing his own people'. Utter garbage!

shame on you Krishnan for still peddling BS. Like others have said (and C4 reported at the time) it was the rebels who wouldn't let the lady leave, and "there is no reconciliation" is a blatant lie: residents were given the choice to stay or go, like the MP says the vast majority did not go with the islamists but were welcomed back. Many of your "moderate" rebels have actually joined the government forces too

3:05 I had to watch twice. Most likely, the woman was referring to the terrorists who did not let her and her neighbours leave. It seems, after all, that they were used as human shield and their suffering as media material. Now their dire situation is again exploited by Channel 4 to undermine Syrian government. I am glad that at least they showed the part where their face got slapped, but honestly this is appalling to say the least. I saw the smile on the child behind her and I saw hope. Stay strong, Syria! I have made the promise that one day I will go there as tourist to support your economy!

Channel 4---this interview proves that you do not do any investigate journalism. Do your owners pay you good? If I were you I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror. You did not even pursue and allow the woman to elaborate on how the Nusra Terrorist would not allow her to leave when the government corridors to safety were open, and you interrupted and cut off the speaker when he was stating the facts that East Aleppo was held by Nusra Terrorist. What investigative journalist tries to keep the truth from the public? You do not deserve to be called a journalist. You owe the citizens of Aleppo an official apology for legitimizing and enabling their kidnappers by not reporting that they were actually being held by terrorist. What if your family had been in East Aleppo? How would you report it then?

Even if every country on earth doesn't want Bashar as president its not their choice. The Syrian people are the only ones who can make that call.
