Great video Eldred, and thank you for showing the details so closely. You should do the same for your other bikes.

Love the bike and the small details that make it old school classic with modern touches. Question: are you running a standard crankset or a compact crankset? Compact cranksets hit the scene in the mid 2000s, before that we were all running standard cranksets.

Went back to this video to to check out your Colnago, I purchased a Colnago frame Master and looking forward to assembling it. Beautiful bicycle, carbon fiber bicycle simply do not have the beauty of the vintage steel Italian bicycles. Just one question, is that a 1" threadless steer fork you have on the bicycle?

Hello. Amazing bike. And it seems you went for the correct size. They are designed for the rider to sit outside the seatpost and his front weight to be outside the headset for the bike to sit firmly on the ground for acceleration etc. I am ready to place an order but would love to know how you determine the size.

The best thing you did with the bike were the skewers. I commented about a year ago that steel requires strong quick releases. Velocity A23 rims are the hot thing now with wheel builders if you didn't already know, wider footprint.

I picked up a vintage Guerciotti, only thing I am doing is spreading the rear triangle from 126 to 130mm so I can run a 9 or 10 speed drivetrain. I am pretty much modernizing the bicycle. I like the feel of steel, soaks up road shock nicely.

Beautiful bicycle. Being a steel frame, do you generally wash the top tube and down tube after sweating on it after a hot day riding? I noticed you have lots of setback on the saddle, my bike fitter just about pushed my seat back quite a bit in order to get the knee over pedal. I have a good amount of power but my hands go numb frequently.

Gotta love any Colnago Saronni Red 👍 So what’s with the red tubing protruding up out of the top chrome headtube lug that the headset is attached too .. why did Colnago do that on these and some of the Tecnos frames? The classic bike shop here in town has a red/pink Colnago Tecnos Art Decor frame with chrome fork .. the frame is brand new (old stock) I was thinking of getting it and putting a new (old stock) Shimano 25th anniversary groupo on it with some Ambrosio tubular rims .. and a black Colnago engraved quill stem with aluminum bar .. which would all make it period correct, but I’m not sure I like that painted tubing sticking a centimeter‘ ish out of the chrome headtube lug before it meets the headset, did that bother you at all at first .. did it grow on you? Do you know why Ernesto designed it like that? I Like your channel, I raced in the 80’s on a Saronni Red Nuevo Mexico with Super Record, and like the nostalgia you throw into your vids 👍 Subscribed

Can you tell me what kind of seat post that is that you have on your bicycle? I just had a bike fit and it appears I need a seatpost with more setback.
