My grandson was in Afghanistan with his UK regiment and got himself attached with a Canadian regiment. Said they were unreal. In UK that is a compliment by the way.

I have served with a few Canadians, I am a 68W (Combat Medic) U.S. Army, and I treated them like they were my own blood brothers. Badass men in the RCR, Plus I got funny looks to when I brought a hockey stick to the sands of Iraq. Canada and USA= North America!!!

After 6 deployments and countless missions, fighting along side Canadian and UK forces ~ We obviously developed one hell of a bond between our detachment and the coalition forces. You’re certainly dependent on the Canadian & British Forces, on many occasions, to have your Six and vice versa. When the shit did hit the fan, we were always there for each other, regardless of the flag on our cammies!

Why so much shit talking? Seems like alot of people are so clueless. The Canadian military is tiny compared to the united states army. Obviously their contribution will be smaller. Isnt the population of Canada smaller than the population of California?Ill just copy and paste this here but im not trying to cause drama. Top level Canadian troops are some of the best in the world.Vice Admiral Robert Howard, USN who is a Navy SEAL commanded, as a Captain, The Task Force K-Bar which was a combined special operations force that included many units from the American special forces community as well as the Canadian JTF2 (and units from other countries). After the operations were over, he made some comments on working with JTF2.Captain Bob Harward, USN, SEAL, Task Force K-Bar commander, commented:“This is the first coalition direct action mission since the Second World War. You guys all pass into history right now.” Indeed he said JTF2 was his first choice for any direction action missions.Task Force K-Bar and Canada's JTF2In other words, a US Navy SEAL stated that in a direct action mission, he would choose JTF2 over his own SEALs.

As a Canadian I'm not proud to see all those hate comments against our allies. Sorry if there's a minority of idiots, thanks to all the countries helping ours.

I'm reminded of a old proverb if in a war you shoot at a man and immediately  get set upon by 3 machine guns  the man was German
if you shoot at a man and immediately  get very accurate rifle fire in return the man was British
if you shoot at a man  and nothing happens then 2 minutes later your entire sector is obliterated  by artillery fire the man was American
