this song breaks my heart, kurt's life has been so dementedly romanticised. people cry at this stuff like it's a sad movie or something but this is a REAL person. there is nothing pretty about being a heroin addict, about being deeply depressed and suicidal, about being dehumanized and turned into the media's little 'token' like a cool cartoon character. the man was shrieking in fucking pain and the whole world gave him awestruck goo-goo eyes in response. he lived a hell of a life in his twenty-seven years. a hell of a life.

Dave Grohl has recently admitted that to this day that he still cannot listen to this song. It's too hard for him, because it was the last song that Nirvana recorded together, and it was recorded just a while before Kurt's death...

What a fuckin song to conclude a band... So much emotion, so much energy. Not only does it perfectly encapsulate the sound of nirvana, it goes beyond that. We will never get another person like Kurt Cobain again

This song is literally a declaration of,
saying fuck everything, I'm done.
The best revenge song ever.

I will never bother you
I will never promise to
I will never follow you
I will never bother you
Never speak a word again
I will crawl away for good
I will move away from here
You won't be afraid of fear
No thought was put into this
I always knew it would come to this
Things have never been so swell
I have never failed to fail
Pain
Pain
Pain
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
I'm so warm and calm inside
I no longer have to hide
Let's talk about someone else
Steaming soup begins to melt
Nothing really bothers her
She just wants to love herself
I will move away from here
You won't be afraid of fear
No thought was put into this
I always knew to come like this
Things have never been so swell
I have never failed to fail
Pain
Pain
Pain
Pain
Pain
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know your rights
You know you're right
You know your rights
You know your rights
You know your rights
Pain

Those of us who grew up with Nirvana will never forget hearing this song for the first time in 2002. Came out of the blue like a lightening bolt.

Kurt’s voice is so distinct from everybody else’s... that’s why he so special and the last Rock Star.

3 years ago, I was 11 and a complete fucking mess of emotions: anger, sadness, blame, etc. But then, going through those emotions together was something i had not experienced before and I was confused and afraid. This song popped in my recomendations, and as soon Cobain started to shout, i broke into tears. That raw voice was identical to my feelings. This song, and many others from Nirvana, made me understand myself. And that is priceless
Thanks

This song is raw, haunting, and so high octane. I love how the chorus is just splitting feedback and drums with screaming vocals. Kurt knew how to write a song better than most writers of these days. Sorely missed by all. RIP KURT

that courtney could perform this herself shortly after his death, really speaks volumes of her. It doesn't matter though, she ultimately got what she wanted and it's finished.

He’s been gone longer now than he was alive. Crazy. I’ll be 27 in October, and I’m thinking how I’ve basically lived as long as he did. It’s sad because it doesn’t feel like I’ve been here very long. He definitely deserved more time and could have been so happy later in life.

This song and “Clover Cage - Mad Scientist” are the only two things keeping me sane through these tough times. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better...We are in this together...I love you..🧡🤍

That next album would have been absolutely amazing. Those 2 years bottled up in Kurt ready to come out. YT algorithm to the rescue again, out of the blue it has been recommending a ton of Nirvana stuff and it has been an awesome trip back to my formative years.
