Ahhh yes, the regressive left trying to come up with explanations as to why people are sick religious dogma/extremism/terrorism. But the CBC is so blinded by its own leftist pacifism that they cannot see this as the real cause of people voting for Trump. No, instead the CBC fantasizing/imagining that it must be socio-economic strife, "fear of the other", racism, lol. ISLAM IS NOT A RACE, ITS A SET OF IDEAS. PEOPLE ARE SICK OF GIVING RELIGIOUS PEOPLE A FREE PASS IN THE NAME OF THEIR RELIGION.

CBC should start reporting on the end result of socialism, a good example is Venezuela, a failing state.

Hilary is in for the Democrats though; in the end Republicans went with an outsider and the Democrats went with someone deeply involved with establishment.

“When’s the last time we had to talk about the Ku Kux Klan” - I don’t understand what he meant by this. The KKK barely exists and doesn’t really do anything anymore. What’s there to talk about?

The more I listen to this segment the more it is obvious the two men are both totally ignorant about what Mr. Trump is all about, what he wants to do for the US, very disrespectful. It is disconcerting to see this.

No surprise here that the black guy pulls the race card!... His guy had 8 years of power and all his guy did was divide America, reduce America's influence abroad and nearly ruin America's economy!... When will the black people finally admit that what falls upon the black community is of their own doing and not of some arbitrary racist power up in the sky?... I wouldn't hold my breath!

Trudeau and O'Leary are not the equivalent to what's happening in other countries. Trudeau is one of the most privileged Canadians alive today, he was born into the establishment, and O'Leary is a neoliberal. This is just Canada trying to be one of the cool kids by saying hey we got radicals here too. The reality is it hasn't hit here...yet.

Populism is on the rise because of an ever increasing level of stupidity and naivety in the electorate. One side hasn't graduated yet, the other never did.

The National should have informed people to speak about Mr. Trump. And not only one-sided. You should have pro and con if you really want to have some sensible and fair discussion (!)

We are looking for politicians who will represent us, we the people, while they are in office.

Its not happening. Economically we are losing ground. The dogma of things like climate change with response such as carbon taxing that are not making sense. Leftist liberalism that does not represent the majority's values is pervasive in our political system. People are mad. People are angry. People are upset. We're voting for people who at least are seen to be leaders that represent our values.

If you want to see it compare a video of Spain's parliament with Canada's kindergarten in Ottawa. In Spain's parliament they at least exhibit respect for each other.

Hillary's going to win?
The American political system is very strange. Hillary's numbers are tumbling in poling of the three main runners. Canada can elect governments without a clear majority; and now the people seem to be giving up on even voting. Hillary seems tied with Trump; and Bernie seems to have more popular vote than either Trump or Hillary. But the American system is so very strange, manipulative, almost anti-democratic against the people's voice.
It is the distrust of Hillary that is most peculiar. The system does seem rigged in favour of a Democratic runner who has Republican values. No wonder the people are confused. Have we ever seen such a flip-flop, malleable platform as this woman's. She seems willing to say anything, but would continue with her own agendum, regardless how she campaigns.
I wouldn't disregard Bernie just yet. The big difference this time around is Hillary's support. Many seem to be in favour of Hillary because of her sex and are willing to disregard her history because of it. Voting in favour of Trump seems a desperate cry against the establishment.
Are we in times of confused revolutions against traditional power structures that do not respect the will of the people? We are living in interesting times.
Somethings up. When 'the people' come to realize their nation is not answering the needs of the majority, walls can come tumbling down at a moments notice.
Namaste and care,

US has a migrant crisis massing at the boarder. Racism and culturism are different. Any race can join and follow any culture/religion they choose at this point. Conflicting ideals are the issue, nobody wants to be offended and nobody wants to be beheaded.

Saying that Trump doesn't have any consistency, he's the only one that does. As an example, take lying Hillary, she is all over the map, does Hillary even know what the truth is.

Given the current field of players for the Oval Office, Trump is the only real choice.

As the populace movements, the comments below the talk about people wanting to be represented a right on.
