Migrants _drive_ over the border? Clearly Trump doesn't read maps either. The Rio Grande forms about half of the US-Mexico border. So, according to Trump, migrants are driving amphibious vehicles that are faster on land than law enforcement SUVs. What are they driving? The next model Batmobile?

If I was that reporter and Trump tried to redirect my question like that I would've said,

"Mr. President, I do have an opinion but that's irrelevant. I'm a journalist, which means I'm here to listen to what my country's leadership has to say, not spread my own agenda. Despite your claims of the press being enemies of the public the reality is that the press is simply the mechanism of transparency by which YOU are answerable to the public. That means I ask the questions and you answer them. Now let's try this again."

DO NOT give in to this wanna be dictator. IF the Republicans really think there's a national crisis at the southern border I'm sure they'd be more than willing to introduce legislation to give back the $2.3 trillion in tax breaks for the ultra rich and corporations. $2.3 trillion would pay for 403 walls at 5.7 billion per wall. Then maybe all the old white guys will FINALLY feel safe. Good grief.

There is no emergency. Trump is planning to take money from projects that will save American lives to build his racist wall.

As a Native American it’s just crazy to me that they want to build a wall
What would have happened if we have built a wall when white man was coming over to settle on our Native land ? It’s just history repeating itself
U can’t stop anything with a wall

Oh jeez, him arguing like a child with that reporter just screams of a complete lack of emotional intelligence. That's what moronic, childlike bullies do when they're trying to win an argument that they know they can't win.

"It's not going to change a thing, but I'm still doing it." Holy shit, that's the most honest Trump's been since he ever ran for president.

Gotta say, I'm not too surprised Trump shut down the government. He has a long history of not paying the people who actually do the work.

Don't get caught up in the details of this argument. This is not about immigration. This is not about security. This is not about what is effective or ineffective. This is about an Executive taking the county hostage to usurp the power of Congress. This is not a normal negotiation. In a normal negotiation, compromise is a reasonable means to arrive at a reasonable solution. But compromising with an authoritarian terrorist is nothing more than an appeasment-- an appeasement in the true 1930s Europe-sense. And that lead to WWII. If he wins anything here, he increases his power. He will invent something new. He will take hostages again. He will continue to violate the Balance of Powers until we are in a true Constitutional Crisis. So do not discuss the merits of his point, because his purpose has nothing to do with this point about a wall. His purpose is to establish a reign of despotism. And for the good of the Republic, we must never allow him to accomplish his authoritarian purpose.
