Learn how to design and animate a lower thirds title within Premiere Pro. Download link to the project file is included.

Are you introducing someone in your videos? Then it's great to show their name. This can be done with a lower third title.

With the title designer of Premiere Pro, we can create the design of the title. The title designer has many tools to create shapes, paths, change styles and even import images.

Once we are done with the design, we will duplicate the the title file as many times as there are elements inside. For example; if you have created one text layer, two rectangles and one logo image, you have four elements in total.

With having four duplication's, we are now going to remove all elements but one for each title file. We wanna have each element in a separate title file.

Next, lay all those title files on top of each other in your timeline. This is the same idea as working with layers in Photoshop.

Now we can animate each layer separately to create an incoming animation.

When the animation is complete, we would also like to create an outgoing animation. The faster way to do this is by nesting the title files into a new sequence. Then duplicate that sequence in your timeline and reverse the time of it.

Congratulations, you have now designed and animated a professional lower third within Adobe Premiere Pro!

13:30 is the moment that i shocked. I mean it's just a simple trick but that was awesome. I think, i love it because i couldn't thought that can be done like that. I think i would make it the hard way, open lower third sequence and make it everything again :)

Hi, Jordy! This was exactly what I was looking for to create my lower thirds in Premiere. THANK YOU! However, I was wondering how to go about re-using these title sequences (since that's what they are) most effectively/efficiently in other projects. Would you suggest creating a project for them and then just importing said project into each new project?

could you please explain how were the keyframes added automatically while you were dragging your mouse on crop effect without changing the value manually on the effect controls panel ?

Hi, ace tutorial thanks so much!
I have a question though, I recreated this similarly on a video and everything works perfectly - but - when I copy and paste the sequence and then reverse it, for some reason the text moves out perfectly but the boxes abruptly leave the page rather than fluidly like they do when they enter on the original sequence. I don't know how this is happening as it is the exact sequence copied and pasted, only reversed so surely it should animate out the same as it animates in? Sorry if that makes no sense! I have been trying to google why this is happening but I am crap at explaining myself so haven't found an answer why!
Thank you.
