Philippines: Plastic Bottles go Solar | Global 3000 5
In the Philippines' urban slums, families are unable to afford electricity and often have no access to the grid anyway. But Filipino actor Illac Diaz is looking to change that. With his organization My Shelter Foundation, he's come up with an innovative idea: turning empty plastic bottles into lamps.

It doesnʻt matter who invented this first. Whatʻs more important is that its being put to good use.

Suggestion: don't get stuck in dumb sniping at people who think outside the box. Illac Diaz has devised a wonderful eco friendly solution to the problem of lack of electricity in many regions. He has improved the lives of hundreds of thousands in the developing world. Kids can read and do homework, mothers can cook and do chores, people are safer in their homes, there are far less accidental fires. Hey, sounds good to me. You naysayers - y'all got a better idea?

@elizabeth coopersoutham and @norland obillo they never claimed it was their invention. The inventor,  Alfredo Moser is credited with it in the organizations' website. Maybe the producers of this program didn't fact check.
