He was in Dall House. I was in cameron and he strangled me for something I forget what in 1989. He was terrifying, did very well though for Scotland and lions. Last truly great scottish player who would of played for any country in my opinion.

Chris I was at Rannoch from 88-94. Im sorry to here about your father when did he pass away.He was a wonderful man. I joined school midway through a term he came to our house in Edinburgh to let my parents and I know it would be tricky but not impossible to integrate into school life mid way through a year. My mother still tells this story with real admiration for the man.

Hearing about that touring rugby games stirs up old memories. I got dropped so that Tom could start the game! Needless to say I was not happy. I have sneaky feeling that you got hurt James and I got on for the rest of the game.

I played with Tom for the North & Midlands 88/89. In the trial game we had a line out on the opposition 22. We peeled round the front and Tom and I found ourselves in a 2 on 1 with their fullback. I was yelling for Tom to give me a pop pass once he'd committed the fullback, instead he deftly kicked the ball over the fb's head regathered and touched down. Outrageous skills.
