These sound very tempting BUT - 21 years ago I made the move to Hungary. Turns out today it is the safest most beautiful and least expensive place to live. It is in the heart of Europe if you want to get in your car and travel - go to the countryside to buy from farmers - fruits, vegetables, raw milk and milk products and even meat. I had no choice - when I figured my style of living on my $1000 retirement budget - it would have been a sad fact anywhere. Cashed in my 401K and even with the penalty for early withdrawal - it bought me a 1000 sq ft downtown apartment with high ceilings and lots of windows. By now, I've become a dual citizen which means free domestic travel and medical insurance for under $40/month ALL INCLUSIVE. Can't tell you how relieved I am not having to worry about ending up on the streets for my old age. Now there is also a country house and a vineyard. Was a realtor in NC so if you have questions - please feel free to ask. I'm retired and would love to help anyone else who wants to enjoy their golden years.

Philippines is the cheapest and safest place to retire.

Very nice video but a problem is that while these countries are good for retirement, the jobs there pay very little, so little it's not even enough to live on sometimes...just wanted to let you guys know the reality in some countries...I'm from Perú btw ❤🇵🇪

Hey there I am a 29 year old guy from Sweden I am married to a Filipina, I went to the Philippines first time 2012 and stayed 8 months, since then I fell in love with the country and have been there every year, for at least 2-6 months per year.I am astonished that Philippines didnt even make this list, which is a joke in all aspects by the way.I have been to the Philippines 9x and on each occasion I have spent there a minimum of 3 months, and my wife is from there so I definetely know what I am talking about .I tell you that Philippines is like Thailand was in the 1970s, it is a relatively unspoiled and untouched paradise, which has not been spoiled by tourists, Philippines is much cheaper than Thailand, the cost of living has indeed increased since I went there my first time in 2012, however it is still way below the cost of living for example in Thailand.I will also tell you this, it is the only country in Asia where you can speak English to anyone and expect to be answered back in English, 95% of the Pinoy people, has learned some degree of English in school and society, all goverment and business dealings and medical stuff and dealings are conducted in English. Phillippines official second langauge is English, all and I mean goverment "stuff" is conducted in English, all medical stuff as well, basically if you speak English you can communicate with almost anyone.

Philippines is also safe for foreigners and expats, of course you have to excersise common sence like in the rest of the world including your home country, be an asshole and be treated as such, etc etc.

Philippines is dangerous to those people abusing heavy drugs such as amphetamines and Heroin etc etc., however prescription medicines are easily obtained for those of you who cant live your lives without taking drugs.

Cost of living is really low, if you have any questions on the cost of living (ask me specific questions and I will answer) it is hard to give examples, but I can say this . counting out housing cost, you can easily live on 500 USD a month and live good on that money.

housing costs can cost as little as 100 USD a month to 1000 usd a month depending on what kind of housing and living you want.

1 liter of milk under a dollar, 1 kg of rice about 1 and a half dollar, 1 kg of potatoes 2 usd, 1 liter of high quality beer in a bar/pub about 1 and a half dollar,

1 kg of chicken about 4-5 usd, 6-7 for pork, and about 7-8 for Beef.

electricity bill in a 2 room apartment with "aircon" per month (highly depending on the use of the aircon) but for me it was like 20 usd.

anyway ask me and I shall tell you more specifically.

Cheers /Rob
