I've been a rabid Kamen Rider fan for ten years. This is the kind of game I've been waiting for for YEARS. I'll admit, the plot works way better if you know the story of W or OOO. But I can tell that they're doing their best to not confuse people who have no idea what Gaia Memory or Core Medals are.

Three words: *Rider May Cry.*

It's rather fun watching an outsiders take on the franchise, there's so much stuff I just accept as "Yeah that's normal". W being two people? Eiji having a birb friend? Yep...totally normal

As a fan of kamen rider, this game is still pricey but when referred back to those kamen rider movies, the plot is worth that much money. The plot is good enough for the game. But sometimes outside the actual fight where you have the characters moving around, the actions may seem strange. Also one of main characters, Zero-one does not have all of his forms in the game, so you will see only those which can be called "functions main" forms remain in the game. Overall, definitely recommend for Tokusatsu fans but take some time to think for others before you buy it

Gotta love it when they go through the effort to fully translate the text dialogue and menus but not bother to even release the game on an INTERNET-BASED GAME SHOP.

I hope the game gets a sequel and see what other Riders will be used.
Though I wished Zero-One got to have more than 5 forms.
Before someone says "Flaming Tiger, Freezing Bear, Biting Shark weren't shown much and thus not enough stuff with them to include them in the game unlike Flying Falcon", literally just add in some stuff to hose 3 forms at least enough so they can be included.
Its awkward that compared to W and OOO, Zero-One doesn't have much forms.
Birth was pretty awkward with how he only has his basic form and Birthday form rather than his weapon modes(they are called Birth CLAWs, yes?) being selectable forms too separately. A missed opportunity there.

Huge Kamen Rider fan and looking forward to my copy arriving, I did go for the premium sound edition because having that music I'm familiar with will make it even more enjoyable for me, your points do seem to line up with what I'm expecting the game to be like, does look higher budget than the previous title Climax Scramble which I still enjoyed for an arena brawler type of game.
I'd recommend checking out the Kamen Rider W series, or OOOs, those two are many fans favourite series, but my favourite who isn't on this game is Gaim, it's all themed around fruit samurai and knights battling like its the highlander movie (R.I.P. Sean Connery)
You'd never look at an orange or a banana the same say again hah

So fun fact. The weird title is meant to reference every playable main rider. The M in Kamen is an upside down W from Kamen Rider Double(W)’s show’s logo. The D in Rider is the scanner OOO uses to to scan the coins on his belt.

And the Z is for Zero One. Lol

I was cautiously optimistic about this once it was announced, didn't really enjoy the last fighter they released on the switch. The game just felt so shallow. I think the only thing that's preventing me from picking this one up is the lack of other Heisei riders like Decade and Build which I felt would've suited the form changing gameplay better. Regardless, wonderful review as always SwitchWatch. If you haven't watched Kamen Rider Zero-One yet, then I highly suggest you do.

W and OOO technically take place in the same universe. Both W and OOO are fantastic seasons of Kamen Rider and worth the watch along with the movies. Just know that OOO ending is a little weird due to the horrendous earthquake that struck Japan in 2011.

I got my physical copy for about 54 USD here in the PH (about 44 USD for PS4). Here are some stuff:

1. The game itself is full of spoilers, though you won't get much of it when you haven't watched it.
2. Since Double and OOO are the focus of the story, Zero-One is just there because he was the current Rider in the game's development. Zero-One could have easily been removed from the narrative.
3. No character that appeared in the original shows, sans Zero-One, had original VAs coming back, much to the chagrin of the fans. The game creators explained that this is to separate the game from the shows in a way.

Finally got it a few weeks ago, and was happy, my only complaint was that they had 2 versions of Birth and no Vulcan, I mean 4 riders are from W (regular W, joker, Accel, and fang/joker W) 3 from OOO (OOO, birth and proto birth who feels like an unnecessary extra) an just 1 Zero one rider: 01 himself I mean it’s nice that we get an anime of Fuuto tantei with these same W actors from the game, but they could have put a little more effort into it……..but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Great game and worth replaying with the special extras included in the game.

Also this looks like the exact kind of game I've wanted ever since I watched W switch halves.

If anyone’s wondering about the two characters in one body talking to each other, think of it like the.DC superhero, “Firestorm.” But the two guys’ bodies don’t combine, instead one of them passes out as his soul goes into the other person’s body.

This looks incredible.
Is there a way to turn off damage numbers?

I'm a bit sad that it doesn't have all the Heisei riders + Zero-One though.
