I remember mainly the announcer whenever he went up to bat... Also remember his distinctive and consistent swing of the bat -- cool and calm demeanor. Thanks for the memories Tony.

I was Tony's off-season strength and conditioning coach for 11 years and personal friends for almost 30 now. He was a special person with a big heart. He had a great love for people of the Dominican republic and always try to use his gifts to enhance their lives. He was never comfortable in the limelight so what people perceived as sometimes off-putting was more his shyness.

Tony Fernandez and Kelly Gruber. That corner made the rest of the league step up their game, and inspired my friends and I to bike across town each evening to the diamond with lights, just so we didn't have to stop practicing. Thank-you Tony, The Terminator loves ya.

This interview breaks my heart. This man lost a friend. Growing up in Massachusetts, I didn’t get to see tony play day to day, But on tv, what I did see, was some of the greatest hands the game has ever known. When the Toronto Blue Jays would play the Red Sox, I couldn’t wait to see those hands in action. What a nice smooth thrower. The game has lost a great one. Toronto, I’m sorry for your loss. Today I feel your loss.
