I remember dancing to this in Portugal on my first holiday with my girlfriend back in 1988. She died in 2016 from Cancer, I still miss her even today.

the memories. Young, wild and free. This song can make me cry or make me just want to lay the hammer down and go. This song came out and I ran away that summer, at 17, with my boyfriend to Chicago. Remember listening to this song on the radio. Not a care in the world. Oh how I loved him. We were supposed to get married but stupid stuff messed it up, that was 1986. Now, after all these years, we reconnected and we're getting married after all. We never loved anyone as much as we have loved each other and this song relates to my life so deeply. I just sent this video to him. Thank you Simple Minds for making such great music and giving so many of us such great memories. You absolutely ROCKED our generation. We'll tell you who we are, we're the class of the 80's!

This song always makes me cry; it's so attached to The Breakfast Club and that was one of the pinnacle movies of my youth. I didn't have the happiest of childhoods, but, dear God, how I miss being young

I don’t care how much money, fame, success and women Charlie Sheen has had.. I would give that up in a heartbeat to have been Emilio and had that kiss with Ally Sheedy!

Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. What we did *was* wrong. But we think you're crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain...
...an athlete...
... a basket case...
...a princess...
...and a criminal...

Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club.

This quarantine the world is experiencing is like the breakfast club... the rich the poor the beautiful the ugly, were all in virus detention, exploring our own vulnerabilities, exhorcising our sense of invincibility... I hope the bonds we make during this time last forever

Hey, hey, hey, hey
Ooh woh
Won't you come see about me?
I'll be alone, dancing you know it baby
Tell me your troubles and doubts
Giving me everything inside and out and
Love's strange so real in the dark
Think of the tender things that we were working on
Slow change may pull us apart
When the light gets into your heart, baby
Don't you, forget about me
Don't, don't, don't, don't
Don't you, forget about me
Will you stand above me?
Look my way, never love me
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
Down, down, down
Will you recognize me?
Call my name or walk on by
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
Down, down, down, down
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Ooh woh
Don't you try and pretend
It's my feeling we'll win in the end
I won't harm you or touch your defenses
Vanity and security
Don't you forget about me
I'll be alone, dancing you know it baby
Going to take you apart
I'll put us back together at heart, baby
Don't you, forget about me
Don't, don't, don't, don't
Don't you, forget about me
As you walk on by
Will you call my name?
As you walk on by
Will you call my name?
When you walk away
Or will you walk away?
Will you walk on by?
Come on, call my name
Will you call my name?
I say
(Lala la la lala la la)
Will you call my name?
As you walk on by

The song reminds me when I bought a new car. January 15th 1985. An '85 Camaro. It had 12 miles on it. When I turn on the radio, this was the first song that was playing. I'll never forget that.
