Greetings! I'm a 7th Grade Science teacher in Massachusetts (USA), who until recently was teaching 100% remotely due to coronavirus (2 weeks ago, some students began coming to school). During this time I've been giving my students a tour of modern African music, one country each day. I play the music in the background for the first few minutes while they do an opening task to get them ready for the lesson. When it came time to choose a song from Senegal, there was no doubt it would be Baaba Maal, who I'm a big fan of. I was delighted to find this new song to share with my students. They really liked the song and the traditional dances, rituals and clothing in the video. It is truly a stunning song!
