Nice project. Not all DVD ROMs or CD are worn drive. Many use CC motors. Precise movement is not required on CDs or DVDs since the final adjust the lens are able to move in Z and X (just a bit, but enough the make the fine adjust)

I have just read that there is a slight difference between DVD player and DVD writer but can I still use a DVD player for this project? Hoping for your response. Awesome video by the way. Thanks for sharing such amazing contents.

Great video! I need to know what is the minimum height from the Z axis to the heating bed while building this machine. I don't understand how to position the top 2 axes (both of them need to be in the middle + the Z axis need to point towards the base axis which is also need to be in the middle?) I'm freaking out ! lol

Is the print area size according to the shaft length of the stepper motor?

Can we use wood instead of acrylic sheet? And what are the dimensions of the wooden blocks??

I can’t tell if that is a part cooling fan at the beginning part of the video, but I think to get better print quality you need a fan that points towards the print or a fan that goes through a duct to cool the prints

I really like your videos because you upload your codes and diagrams in mediafire or PDF file like that so it's very easy to find and understand

Thanks for Your efforts and inspiring video. I do have 3D-Printer, but making one small for better understanding what is going on there is the right project for the coming (cold) season.

Hello,
This is a very nice project but I have few problems. I would be really happy for you to fix them. So basically when I programmed my Arduino and tested it I only had X and Y motor controllers in ramps 1.4 and didn't had the Z motor controller and extruder. Basically then I added them and Z coordinate Motor (DVD Rom drive) Started overheating and every motor controller started overheating too. Please tell me what to do and thanks if you answer👍😁

nice project but i have a doubt, can we buy the hotend holder or 3D print it or can we just fix the hotend to the Z axis?
