having run with the firm for nearly 20 years between mid 80's to early 2000's i can say our best turnouts was early 90's to late 90's.... when i first went late 70's arsenal firm was in the away end nearly every game and would kick off just before kick off and i loved watching it and thats why i got into it....i read all the books and spoke to lots of older guys who told me that our firm late 60's early 70s was amongst the worst in the country..

in the 80's and 90's arsenal's firm at home was always pretty large when we were expecting someone to turn up... just having those numbers meant we didn't get run hardly ever...biggest prob was getting everyone to where we were all needed... our hooligan copper Miller and hs cronies were always on the ball and where the action was... only now I look back to realize there must of been under cover old bil amongst us... millwall cup game 94 at ours we had over 500

Now for the 80`s - found this - Arsenal back in the 80's were one of the top top firms in the country, Quality And can still pull together a proper mob .. And I'm a yid ...I've seen Tottenham get turned over a few times back then, Arsenal were always together in one firm ... Where as spurs had many splinter mobs, the bull lot .. Richmond spurs, the older hoxton, bethnal green mob...the odd occasion when spurs were all together we did well .

you make some fair points, I'd imagine the Arsenal lot weren't really expecting Spurs to turn up, IMO, or maybe they said thats where they were earlier in the day and then moved in the evening, not expecting anything to come of it. Ive never been to the George pub so I'll have to take your word for it, all I was saying is that this wasn't a two-bob youth firm as youth firms go, I know a few of them and, unless you were involved, you wouldn't want to come out the pub to face em

Looks big to me, taking you at WHL - "we charged accross the no mans land in the shelf and the yids did stand their ground to give them credit but after what seemed like ages we forced them back and took the middle section. The Arsenal in the park lane had already secured that and during the game there were more battles but we held on. Me and Bob seemed to be in the only section of the ground where it was'nt going off but there were still loads of us in the paxton too..

firms, especially youth firms, are far smaller than that nowadays and it all relies on meeting in specific places at specific times with relatively small numbers. As far as I know this was organised as a fight between youth firms and that Arsenal moved to another pub before spurs got there, probably thinking they werent gonna turn up, as often happens nowadays.

Yoof always do nutty stuff at every club and often travel in their own group- the older boys tend not to make too many mistakes with experience. I went to home and/ or away, in the 80's, with a few London clubs- Chelsea, Spurs, Goons, Hammers, , Millwall and Orient- I think they all had some proper naughty boys to be honest. I've seen most of them crews go fuckin nuts at one point or another. It will never go away- there will always be- ---- That

In 2022 worked in highbury and I’m a Yido. One day I’m cleaning up ready to leave and about 80 spurs came running into the pub at highbury😂used to drink with some arsenal in there after work. Loads of chat they had untill the boys showed up 😂

Bought the programme from the game before againt stoke 1984, then
I got the wrong one at first and got the game after, hence the wait, chuckle.
"For this game the clockend will be reserved for the Tottenham supporters
.We`d be grateful if our terrace fans who usually stand at the clockend
would use the North Bank or the East stand enclosure. just for this game, Thank you"
No mention of an all ticket game. The reason Spurs fans stopped coming in
to the North Bank is as I described below.

i was nowhere near a top lad, but I was game and if given an opportunity to have it with like minded lads then I can assure you if I was able to get out with a few others then I would've given it a go.. I was usually at the front standing my ground or on the attack.... id say out of 10 times offs you'd only actually get physical action about 2 or 3 times... otherwise there were a few backing offs back and forwards or the old bill where there on top...

Football hooliganism in France is often rooted in social conflict, including racial tension. In the 1990s, fans of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fought with supporters from Belgium, England ( in 1994, Paris Saint-Germain F.C. hooligans fought running battles with English club Arsenal for 3 hours prior to the uefa cup semi-final in Paris. Over 300 Arsenal hooligans "TheHerd" fought against 1000 French hooligans, it was reported as one of the worst incidents of hooliganism in France),

Hi, Your talking about the 80`s, and I would agree with what you have said in the ground. You said FV was not big in the 70`s, I have said it looks big to me as look what was going on at WHL in 73.The same year a center page spread picture appeared in a national newspaper of Arsenal splitting the shed in two with no mans land in between.

well having been in similar situations years ago if someone had tried to come out we would've thought they are the targets and done even more damage.... having also been in pubs that have been attacked you've no idea how many are out there, the George pub is a smallish pub on a corner and is dark and dingy, nobody inside would've known who or how many were outside

Look at the time it went off between 12:00 -12:30 as soon as the turnstiles opened, I very much doubt you were anywhere near the ground let alone in it. What you would have seen was a big mob of spurs on terracing in front of the main stand left hand side looking down from the clockend, and they were not their through choice mate. It maybe time to hold your hands up.

thinking the geordies had equalized is a classic moment... hilarious don't worry too much theres always next season to start giving it all large again and who knows maybe this time you will finish above us ( I wouldn't bet on it tho)..lol

80's was not as good as the 90's for me.. the average age was late teens or early 20's and the mobs were TOO big.. remember west ham at home early 80's and our firm numbering well over a 1000....the 90's was tasty having numbers between 100 - 200 meant getting to the target un noticed and unlike todays mugs actually get stuck in.. only onetime did we number over 500 in england during the 90's was millwall home fa cup game again far too many and the OB was all around us rounding us up in 3 groups

Ive never seen you lot come down from edmonton, I'd love to see it happen as it would charge everyone up, get a group to meet you up the road but I can't see it tbh, you'd need big numbers to do that and big numbers very rarely come out nowadays, its all small yoof groups and pre planned meetings away from cameras
