Those dudes were more worried about smoking a cigarette than they were about being blown apart. That guy looks like he’s 50 years old, no helmet, hot boxing a cig . Insanity!

All these "it's like ww1!" Comments. No disrespect to Patrick, but this is nothing like ww1 trench warfare.

So many comments about the intensity of the shelling.

How do you define intense?

Any kind of shelling can be intense, be it 3-5 rounds a minute, 300 in 30 minutes, or 2000 a week or just 3 or 4 and its over.

If you have never had the experience of being on the receiving end of incoming fire, then you probably will never know what it is like.

I have been under, intense shelling, if you want to count the number of rounds per, what ever time frame you want. It does not matter. It is intense.

The base I was at in Vietnam was hit with the, 300 rounds of rocket and mortar fire in 30 minutes. If you have ever cooked popcorn, that is what the intensity was like. In the middle of the attack, it was like a roar of explosions.

Watching the video, I felt the intensity of emotion due to the incoming rounds that you can hear.

Imagine that sound times a million. I can only imagine that first day of the battle of Verdun. I think "the great war" channel on youtube said on another front line 20 or 30 miles away said they were able to hear the bombardment of Verdun.

I've been to army - The real sound of 5.56mm rifle is traumatically huge. You never know nor can imagine it before you actually hear it shooting in close distance. 81mm artilery? Instant trauma.
