Young and in their prime. So organic, so powerful, so beautiful. Not a band on earth could touch them when they were in that zone.

Bono was only 25 years old. The confidence and swagger were off the charts. Amazing band!

This performance kickstarted the European leg of Live Aid into life. There's been a lot of revisionism since Freddie's death about who stole the show...trust me, watching at the time, people were asking, "Who are these Irish boys??" U2 brought absolute magic (and no little drama) into proceedings. As the evening drew in, Elton John and Queen built on this momentum, making for a magical night of music.

What made this performance so amazing is the song was relatively unknown but everyone could sense this was one of the most electrifying live performances ever

I waited all afternoon to see U2 perform at Live Aid, I was 14 years old. I'm just a black girl from Indiana and this performance had me sobbing. U2 music has touched me deep into my spiral soul. Thank you for almost 40 years of transcending music and love. Happy Birthday Bono.

I was a huge U2 fan at the time. Live Aid was my era. I remember watching with the radio next to the cassette recorder getting ready for them.

I was loving it. Even the poor dancing at 3.00 minds ish. When he jumped into the crowd I forgot about my recording and sat there in awe.

Still love it to this day😊
