Yuval Noah Harari participates in a panel discussion with Pierre Habbard, Doris Leuthard, E. Glen Weyl, moderated by Patrizia Laeri. This panel was in partnership with Swiss TV at the World Economic Forum 2020.

From data annotation farms and content moderation centres emerges a poorly understood and barely regulated shadow workforce of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This panel discusses how should labour policies adapt to the unique conditions of “digital assembly lines”?

It's amazing an event of this magnitude doesn't arrange a competent host. These questions are terrible.

15:32 the interviewer should have let the conversation continue so that the panelist could finish his thought.

Just skip to 6:30 when the host stops talking.

Yanis Varoufakis, author of A Brief History of Capitalism - Talking to My Daughter, has an interesting positive outlook for humanity as a leisure species chilling out at the agora talking philosophy as the robots do the work.

The first step in reverting back to rehumanizing production starts with industrial farming---ban GMOs on essential food crops

As Harari put it:
The REAL BIG DANGER is creating AI
in a "wrong way" so that only a few humans are "needed"...
and the very big "rest of humans" will
become just ....(also Harari's words in
other discussions):
THE USELESS MASS!

And for me this is fact, this is reality,
this is the unspoken truth, and the
Silicon Valley knows it, but keep the
people naive and stupid in their own interest and benefit (power and money).

And remember the millions of unemployed, working poor class already created in the past 30 - 40 years only in the western
(not mentioned the tragedy in 3-world-
countries....)

At the beginning of the video, digital and ai diagnostics set up by little knowledge, poorly paid and likely stressed & overworked people. I see this as the most striking examples of later term capitalism holding back potential for quality work and design to get done, and if I am on track about that, I wonder how long until we see a radical economic change that is more conducive to where we are heading.
Hidden workers or people freely providing valuable data simply for participating in regular society, to me the companies profiting off of this information should be contributing more to an indiscriminate UBI

I was very impressed by the information bestowed by the panelist E. Glen Weyl. I suggest future discussions include him or similar sources.

Harari needs to be supported with his effort to rehumanize workplaces --- although it's a shoot to the moon now
Mass production is due to mechanization of production resulting in overproduction(glut)

Interesting and informative; I have seen a Black Swan AI algorithm I would name Equality&Ethics and I have just bought Glen Weyl's Book to test for convergence. I will let you know the verdict, love Niels
