this game is actually super fun and I cant put my finger on why, the combat is clunky, the questlines aren't really enthralling, but there's just something about the game that keeps me coming back and enjoying it.

I played it when it came out. I'm a big piranha bytes fan so i liked it despite bugs/clunkiness. One thing that DID bother me though, and I don't see anyone talking about it, is the spellcasting graphics. I mean, if you watch the trailer for the berserker faction for example, the fireball looks freaking spectacular, but in the actual game, it's like a graphical effect from 2005-ish or something. Is this an issue only I encountered? Have they patched it? If anyone could answer I'd really appreciate it.

My suggestions for newcommers:
0. Turn of automatic aiming/targeting in the difficulty-settings
1. Learn to upgrade your weapons / Get a good weapon early
2. Get a shield (makes the fights in the first 10 hours much easier)
3. Find a companion asap (Duras joins you very early)
4. Focus on weapontypes / don‘t try to use everything
5. Dodge the first attack from your enemies
6. Steal everything / pickpocket everyone (no moral punishment)

I just play it second time. First I joined Outlaws and been with Nasty. I finished game emotionally cold. Now I joined Clerics and trying to be emotionally neutral at worst and hang out with Caja. Definitely great game despite all flaws

Is this game worth it (when the price drops)? The graphics do not bother me, why dose everyone criticize the graphics they look good.

When they said evolution mechanics that means the map evolves... So I thought, that tarvor was going to be a forest when I helped establish the world heart in that area.. Apparently the world heart died even if I save the commander, the she devil separatist in the dome city got a job as a mechanic. Apparently she died while still being alive through dialogue.. The pilgrim has no fucking idea what he's talking about and gives no acknowledgement of faction characters..

Got in finally on sale and so far I’m liking it! It’s like a cross between Fallout and Skyrim.

I had really high hopes for this game and waited for reviews but I’ve lost my hype after seeing so many bad comments. I may still give it a go.

Just finished Elex today! I felt in love with this game, despite all its flaws, it was an amazing experience. Great universe, storyline is cool, rpg side is nice, and overall i really satisfied and dont get why it had so much hate in their reviews.

I wanted to like this game because it has some of my favourite genres and elements of a video game but the combat was too frustrating. The world was beautiful and the story was okay. It was engaging enough to make you want to explore and talk to NPC's but I had many glitches with the NPC's and cut scenes how they would not work properly and the overall problem with the combat made me stop playing. Sadly I only got 12 hours out of the game. If they fix the combat and the glitches then I will return to it because it was a beautiful and mysterious world. The graphics were awesome but it was just unplayable for me. Hopefully ELEX 2 will fix this now that they have a starting point. Fingers crossed for a sequel. Maybe they will show it at E3?

Oh comeon, Gothic 2 combat was almost perfect. I'm sick of hearing that combat in PB games has ALWAYS been a problem.

Is it just me, but does it look like when he's swinging his weapon it looks like its not actually hitting the enemy

Clunky combat and movement, slippery surfaces, glitchy jetpack red bar-blue bar transition, shotguns firing darts which you can see the projectiles, flamethrowers enemies stunlocking you with insanely high damage, hitboxes as good as Dead By Daylight's, grinding midgame to catch up because of the non-existent game balance...

Despite all of this, I still played this game for 50 hours, and it was worth it. But I would never play it a second time, like GTA V or The Witcher 3 made me do.

This is a classic case of a game which has many flaws, but the positive aspects far surpasses the negative ones.

Has the food quest been fixed yet in the paladins quest line? I tried after it after the patch that supposedly fixed it but no succes on my part.
