Only 7% of Ecuador's population are native americans (indigenous) another 7% are African decent, another portion is mestizo, there are also castizos, and whites which are mostly Spanish decent, but many are Italian, German, and a population of middle eastern mostly from Lebanon.

To say that everyone in Ecuador are indigenous looking is like saying that all women in Brazil are garotas.. LOL

At the beginning he said that all of us are indigenous and it's wrong... most of us are mixed-race... I don't consider that rude or an insult... I just think that is not objective...
But anyway is a nice documentary :)

the guy in the opening of this video is either ignorant or did not travel in Ecuador. There are quite a lot of white people in Ecuador, and actually most are not indigenous but from all over the world and of all races, including mixed.

Hey man, most of the stuff you posted on that video is not accurate; I am Ecuadorian and I have known my country for 35 years.

My wife and I are planning on moving to Ecuador after spending a good deal of time there. We absolutely love it there and feel more at home in Ecuador than in the US. After all the time we have spent in Ecuador I have never once felt unsafe. The people are warm and friendly, the lifestyle in Ecuador is healing thats the main reason why we are moving there. And yes we are learning the language.
Gracias!

Gringolandia is only one part of Cuenca.. The people living there have no intentions to assimilate and are missing out on the entirety of Ecuador life

I think everyone should know at least two languages. If you move to another country you need to at least learn the language. Life would be so full not being able to speak to many people and learn from them
