Awesome video! I would never been able to have set up that gyro correctly without your help! Now my BH L-39 is ready to fly. I really appreciate you guys for taking the time to make these videos just to help us pilots out. Motion r c's customer support is unrivaled.

Very informative. Is there a size or weight restriction for what planes this can be used on?

Again just to reiterate best video ever. I have watched a couple on this Gyro and people skip lile five steps. You show and tell exactly where to plug everything in on the receiver and the Gyro in great detail. And go through everything step-by-step. Not only talking about it but showing you in real time. I wish you would make videos on other setups on other things just like this because this is the best informative video out there
Thank you

Great Vid . Said everything I needed to know. If you were using a 8 channel receiver and a Futaba radio it would have been better for me , but you did great !!  Keep up the great work and Happy Flying !! THX BEN V.

Last weekend I maidened the FMS Beaver V2 using this Hobbyeagle AL-3 gyro . First using 25% gain as you suggested. Worked fine. Then moved the gain to 50% and the bird flew flawlessly. After that dialed the gyro to 75% gain and was even more stable with high winds, but at full throttle the Beavers tail began oscillating. So went back to 50% and that is my setting for the plane. Also using the on/off function on a two position switch. Dual rates work perfectly too. Very very important to follow instructions in the manual and watch this video is a must. Also making sure of the surfaces directions on both the receiver and gyro ( after installing it of course). Thanks for your info, video and tips.

Correction, Mode 2 (red) or mode 3 (red/blue). Mode 1 is default and will not have a gyro off selection. Then program it to a two position switch.

Thanks, James, that's a great help. The snag I'm hitting is that the ailerons have a healthy, positive, correct direction movement, but the elevator and rudder have no discernible movement, although when the battery is 'on' the system switches and twitches as per. The only diff in my system is that the elevator uses two servos, but one 'Y' lead, and works fine when the aircraft has the gyro switched off or on ( overiding). The Mod two is switched off, and the system is on a two way switch, correctly showing blue when switched to 'on'. Help?!

This stabilizer now has four modes and by default will not switch the gyro off. People need to select number 7 in settings and either use mode 1 or mode 2 and that will allow you to turn the gyro off.

Mine has auto level mode and 3 pots instead of 2. Auto level was great for hand launching but flying like that was a mistake, it took away all my throw and made the plane control radically differently. It caused me problems getting used to the plane, full stick left the plane would gradually turn, then you turn it off and half stick the plane is headed for the ground. I ended up losing the plane, it got too far out in safe (auto level) mode and I couldn't get it to come back. Just be aware. In retrospect, I should have turned the gyro off and let the plane crash even though I couldn't get it to come back, at least I could have salvaged something. Rumor has it that it hit a thermal pocket and its still flying to this day

Had an amusing moment with one of these in a FreeWing Gripen today. Gain was set super high causing severe wing rocking at high speeds lol.

Just finished installing this today in a 1.5m 3D plane, Double checked all control surfaces, all gains were left standard, level calibration, ect, ect. Took off and couldn't control the plane at all, went up about 10m then smashed into the ground and into lots of pieces...to say i was pissed would be an understatement. But im willing to try a second time in something less expensive and smaller, as everyone else seems to be having success with this. Is there something simple im missing or haven't done? Feel free to comment guys.Much appreciated.

Hey JAMES : Last question . Is it important to have a A3 level with the wings to keep the plane flying level ?? If the A3 is tilted forward or back will it make the plane rise or fall ??  THX BEN V.

Never used a parallel board. Great tip to know. Might have to get one

My problem is with a Draco which has a very high incidence wing, opened the throttle and I had to feed down elevator trim to the max but ended up climbing vertically and then fell back, I used all the available trimming. I then tried some programmed subtrim but on closing down the throttle it then dived down, so that was no good. CofG is correct BTW.
I want the gyro to give down elevator on a climb only to help with this. The test to tip fus tail down does show it's working, but then if I hold it in that same position elevator returns to normal - is that going to happen in flight?
