Chapman wasn't stuck on a mountain with the enemy. The enemy was stuck on a mountain with Chapman.

I’m in the Air Force and just got out of BMT a few weeks ago, a squadron I was in had classrooms dedicated to heroic airmen that had many awards and chilling legacies. Chapman’s was my personal favorite, a true badass. It was cool to see the uniform he wore and the pictures he had up in the class rooms. If you ever go thru BMT and your in the 326th bulldogs you’ll see it and they’ll talk about him and others a lot. Mad respect for him

Instead of depends on help, he tried to protect his helper. He did that with physically and psychologically tortured. No honor and bravery will ever enough to describe what he did.

He landed on that hill fighting for his country, but he died on that hill fighting for his brothers.

Rest in peace, John Chapman.
