Basically tretinoin acts on the skin by increasing desquamation (the process by which skin turn over occurs). It speeds it up so more skin is shed initially and eventually, it removes the blockage and regulates skin turnover. What does means is skin is renewed quicker and pores are unblocked, thereby preventing pore blockage and formation of acne.
It also binds to the three receptors that are responsible for activating a cascade of inflammatory response that forms the acnes that we have. By binding to those three mentioned receptors, the mechanism of inflammation is inhibited thereby suppressing inflamed acnes and acnes in general.

This video is made more for science students that's why the terminology is scientific. For myself as masters student it's pretty simply explained. I'd recommend using a website such as patient uk or an acne charity website if you're after a more simple explanation. Best wishes

Thanks God, Now I know how it works in molecular level. Rather then dermatologist is saying good for your skin but can’t answer why and how it works. Piling and rejuvenate the skin wasn’t a good answer for me
