I've spent so much time using this weapon in Battlefield II but have never gotten to shoot s real one. I've shot some major weapons but not this one. Only virtually, where i am a BEAST. Great vid.

Russians underload their rounds to save barrel life and extra brass thickness. Americans don't care how much propellant, brass, and barrel is wasted.

If there is a solid strike on the primer and doesn't go "bang" then its definitely bad ammo. The 7.62x54 was adopted by Russia in 1890 (last rimmed cartridge still in modern inventory?) so there is old inventory out there. I'm guessing the older 54 would be corrosive primed so a little bit of PM is necessary after shooting. I have 2 Enfield No.4 mk 1's and I was finding and shooting ammo WW1 era (many misfires) until the 1980's.
