Happier than Billionaires in Costa Rica | EX-PATS™ Ep. 12 Full | Reserve Channel 5

Rob and Nadine Pisani were successful business owners in New Jersey, but when the stress of their lives landed Rob in the hospital, they decided it was time leave it all behind and start over in Costa Rica. Five years later, they are happier and healthier than ever. Rob is in a band, Nadine has written a book, and they wake up every morning excited to see what the day will bring. From shopping for local groceries on a scooter to mountain biking, they are embracing pura vida.

EX-PATS according to modern definition, are people temporarily or permanently residing in a country and culture other than that of their upbringing. Hosted by Savannah Jane Buffett (Jimmy's daughter), we travel through foreign lands discovering the extraordinary stories of those who cut the home-cord leaving behind a seemingly successful and ordinary existence in search of a place to live the dream they have for their life.

Cool to hear other expat stories, We been here in Costa for 8 years. Came down with 2 kids and 2 dogs. Still love it!

This couple  taught me so many things about life in 24 minutes than I have in the past 22 years. Im a 22 year old Costarican guy from San Jose whos goal is to make lots of money and  experience what the American dream is and I have to admit that Ive been stressed and very unhappy. I feel happier now after watching this 24 min video. God, what they say somehow made me see how blind Ive been. I am young, healthy, smart but havent realized that I live in a paradise and being happy and providing yourself and your family what is needed to live is what it is all about. Thank you for making these videos. They really help :)

I am from Guanacaste Costa Rica myself, and I really miss the place where I was born, I'm a business man here in New Jersey and thinking going back some day. I am glad that there's people from other countries that appreciate that beautiful land called Costa Rica; God bless you all

I've made up my mind that I'm moving there!! I've been looking at a place in Playa Hermosa. Scary but I'm going to do it. ALONE!! Thanks for the push I needed!

After reading through some of the comments, it made me ask the question “where is the negativity coming from?” My wife and I made a similar move to Puerto Rico. I immediately identify with many parts of this video. The thing that I really enjoy about the move to the Caribbean is how I changed and became part of the local culture. My friends are puertorican. I’m interested in how things are done and am forever asking questions and learning. Being from the Northeast, work and money is something that is all around and you become that. It takes a real effort to stay in that environment and leave that mindset. To travel and live in an environment that places a lessor value on those things makes it much easier. Now comes the contradictory part - we bought a rundown shell of a house and started to renovate it with the idea of entertaining people there to share our experience....sure we’ll earn some money....but the money isn’t the driving force. Retirement isn’t leaving something you dislike, it’s running to something you do. So I’ve just finished my morning coffee....if you excuse me, I have to clean up some of my banana trees. Buen día 😎👍🌴🇵🇷

Its amazing to think that if he asked her out more than twice in todays corporate world it would be classed as sexual harassment.

After my 7th visit to CR, I bought a place in Tamarindo.  Can't say enough good things about the people and the lifestyle changes that have occurred since.  Don't come her to make it better, come here to let it make you better.  I've lived more in the past 4 month than in the past 30 years.  You don't see a hearse pulling a u-haul...so I don't think you can take it with you.  Pura Vida my friend.

There are so many great places like that around the world that you could live on a few hundred bucks a month and have more than you have now

Brilliant. They look so much better and stronger than in any of their old photos. That's big proof they are doing something right.

Thank you for saying so many good things about Costa Rica, I feel very grateful for living in it. Costa Rica is a beautiful country as many others in the world. I'm costarican, and Im sure you would see very nice things here, but for me the only deep last longing true happiness is the one Jesús Christ gives. Blessings !!
