My first and second Serge Tcherepnin DIY synth modules the 1973 filter and Negative Slew. No other sound sources were used.

The 1973 filter in my COA panel is the nicest filter I've ever heard.  I'm trying to figure out how similar the design is to the Toppobrillo Multi Filter, which also sounds awesome.  I know there's a ton of Serge inspiration in the Toppobrillo modules.

Good lord this thing sounds amazing! I'm hoping that the Random Source modules can come close to this. Preparing to start a euro-serge system and I'm having a hard time deciding between Elby and R*S.
Thanks for the video. I don't think I've ever heard a better sounding filter.

Coincidentally (or maybe not so coincidentally?) I just stumbled across essentially this same patch on my system. I modulated the frequency of one sawtooth LFO with another slow Sawtooth LFO - and sent the output of the slave directly to the input of a filter on the edge of self oscillation. Same patch I think! Sounds great!

This is great! Can you explain the patch? I'm curious if the filter is just ringing from getting hit with a pulse input - or if you're sending shaped percussive sounds into it. Seems like the slew could probably generating either.

amazing sound thanks! i have a vcfq, 4u, but i´ve been always intrigued by the sound, and comments, on the vcf 73. Is yours made with the cgs board? i guess that sharp attack has to do with the Negative Slew as well right? I can hardly get something like that out of my dusg.
Thanks for sharing

so nice!
Does your filter has 68k (as per the schematic) or lower (27k for instance, for stronger resonance) at the feedback loop of the first opamp? I like how yours sounds at the verge of oscillation. And, did you use the extra output buffers on the board?
