I remember buying my first American Silver Eagles at $2 over spot. I bought 2 monster boxes at $18 each. But soon after that the premiums started to rise. I've been buying American Gold Eagles since that time, in the hopes that those premiums won't go up like the ASE's have. If the American Gold Eagle premiums go up to the point of the ASEs, I will have to seriously slow down my stacking. Nice Video Silver Wolverine! 😎

Nah! ASE's are off the table for me, and have been since the premiums shot up. I'll continue to get one of each year, but that's it. To many excellent lower premium options out there! Gold is a quarter of the way around the track, but silver hasn't left the starting gate. Both are good buys, but I still think silver has more upside potential.

My first roll purchase set me back $100. I was not a stacker then and am not a stacker now. More recently I only buy collectable silver but do buy some bullion (the 22 and 23 Britannia's) if there is a reason such as the Britannia design change and I like Kooks.

I get proof eagles for my collection, but I won't back the truck up on eagles unless the price drops a lot. I have been getting more britannias for 29$ and other foreign coins.

I'm not sure if the premiums will even come back down to something like $3-$4 over spot. I miss the days of $2-$3 over. I don't even research ASE prices anymore because I know I'm not interested.
